BALANCING LIFE AS A FULLTIME SALES DIRECTOR AND BLOGGER + A FEW BEST PRACTICES TO HELP ALONG THE WAY

This post is sponsored by Zebra Pen. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sitting by the window in a comfortable armchair with my favorite instrumental playlist buzzing, a cup of coffee brewing, and wearing my favorite comfortable—yet chic blouse (in case of an impromptu virtual meeting)—that’s the WFH dream!! Or more accurately, now it is a reality as we are all living in the age of the remote working revolution

When I am not running my own business as a fulltime blogger, I am a fulltime Business Development Director for a company headquartered in Boston, MA. Before working remotely was mandatory for many, working from home was my normal when I wasn’t traveling to meet clients. With a schedule that can be so hectic it is imperative that I plan out my schedule a week or two in advance and stay organized. Outside of both fulltime jobs, I am in thick of wedding planning. I am still riding on cloud 9 from my engagement, but now more than ever I have to make sure I have the proper tools readily available to help me be successful for any task.

Having the right tools allows me to save time when I am blogging, be more efficient when I am checking things off my wedding list and be more professional in my work environment. The most essential item that I keep in my purse and on my desk at home are pens from Zebra Pen to accompany my journal and planner. In order for me to keep track of everything I need to do, I have to make note of it in my planner. I can always count on my G-350 Gel Retractable Pen

The G-350 Gel Retractable Pen is functional, yet stylish. If a premium writing tool is what you like to have readily available, you will really like the G-350 because of its fine point tip, which glides across the paper with ease. The ink also dries quickly so it does not smudge! Choosing different with a great pen like the G-350 can help you stand out and empower you to put your best foot forward. Check out more information here to see how you can Choose Different with Zebra Pen.

Aside from having great writing utensils to make daily task and work life easier, I want to share a few other things that help keep me sane while juggling blogging, wedding planning, and working from home.

WORK FROM HOME BEST PRACTICES

A desk decorated with your personal touches to encourage your productivity.

Essential oil diffuser or fresh scented candle.

A desk lamp to help illuminate your work.

A desk plant or succulent. You will be surprised at how something as small as a house plant can boost your mood (while cleaning your air).

Pay attention to ergonomics. Invest in a comfortable chair with back support.

Stay hydrated throughout the day with a cup of cold water or sip on a steaming cup of tea or coffee.

Take scheduled breaks regularly such as a one 2–5-minute break every 2 hours. It does the body good to get up and move.

Large-lined notebooks, perfect for writing out your daily agenda, note-taking, or journaling throughout the day.

Overcommunicate!! This is my default advice on communication in general; but more importantly, when you wear many hats like I do—it is crucial to keep your teammates, boss, spouse or significant other, and housemates in the loop. Whether you need quiet time because you are working, informing them of an important deadline, or letting them know when you need to press pause for a breather.

Note your progress and take time for self-care during the day. Working from home can sometimes feel lonely, or stressful. One thing I like to do is put on my favorite facial clay mask during the close of my workday to help relax my nerves. It is so therapeutic!

Looping back to self-care, adjust as necessary and be kind to yourself if you are still trying to find your groove with this new reality. Any change takes time to get used to, and everyone’s specific situation and home dynamics are different. Be sure to jot down a few of these tips and head over to zebrapen.com to shop their full line of pens. I am confident you will find the right pen to help you tackle the day!
